What is Honda LaneWatch™?
When you’re ready to take on Painesville adventures with confidence, the new Honda model lineup has you covered. Many modern Honda vehicles come equipped with outstanding safety technology so you can have extra confidence in your safety when you’re behind the wheel. As you research Honda vehicles, you’ll find that many of them feature Honda LaneWatch™ technology, but what is it?
Honda LaneWatch™ essentially uses a camera to help you keep track of your blind spot. With that being said, Honda LaneWatch™ is no longer available on new Honda models as it has been replaced by even more impressive standard safety features. But, how does Honda LaneWatch™ work? If you’ve got a Honda Accord with LaneWatch™ or even a Honda Civic with LaneWatch™, we’ll go over how this system works today at Honda of Mentor!
How Does Honda LaneWatch™ Work?
The predecessor to Honda Sensing® driver assistance technology is Honda LaneWatch™. It allowed you to keep an eye on your blind spot as you’re driving around Willoughby. Although Honda LaneWatch™ has been replaced, you can find many modern Honda models with Honda LaneWatch™ equipped, especially with our pre-owned inventory which includes many Honda models.
If you’re interested in a Honda Accord with LaneWatch™ or a Honda Civic with LaneWatch™, you may be interested in how it operates. So, how does Honda LaneWatch™ work? Take a look below to find out:
- Honda LaneWatch™ uses a camera beneath the passenger-side mirror.
- As you turn on your turn signal, the camera activates and displays your blind spot on the display screen. You should still take caution with making lane changes if you have Honda LaneWatch™.
- If you need to activate or deactivate LaneWatch™, you can simply press the button at the end of your turn signal stalk.
What is Replacing Honda LaneWatch™?
As we mentioned, Honda LaneWatch™ has slowly been replaced with features in the Honda Sensing® driver assistance suite. Whether you opt for a Honda Accord with LaneWatch™, a Honda Civic with LaneWatch™, or a new Honda model with Honda Sensing®, you’ll find that you’ll be able to take on Eastlake travels with ease when you’re in a Honda model. Although new Honda models don’t feature LaneWatch™, they offer other driver assistance and safety features that include:
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Blind Sport Information System (BSI)
- Cross Traffic Monitor
- Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
- Driver Attention Monitor
- And more!
